The Second Reformed Church of Hackensack is a church in the city of Hackensack located at the intersections of Anderson, Union and Ward Streets. The church is a member of the Reformed Church in America. ==History== The Second Reformed Church was created on October 31, 1855. The first services were held in the “Church on the Green”. Shortly thereafter the first church building was erected in 1856 on State and Berry Streets on land donated by Mrs. Maria Berry and her family. This first building was burned to the ground on Easter Sunday in 1907. The cornerstone of the present church building was laid on June 21, 1908. It had a parsonage that have since been sold. The church is constructed of field stones from the stone walls of nearby farms. In 1965 an administrative wing was added to the church. The local Boyscout troop 11 〔http://www.hackensacknow.com/HistoricFactsb.pdf〕 used the church basement as a troop home, and even used the long basement under the sanctuary as a shooting range.
